After tooth extraction and implant placement, denturists would have to deal with the headache of ill fitting dentures and patient hesitation of not having teeth until implant integration. Although implant locator overdentures are a very cost-effective and stable solution that can help improve denture stability, this healing period not only affects compliance and implant prognosis, but it also decreases patient satisfaction. Immediate implant locator overdentures allow denturists to offer patients a brand new smile immediately with stability and function similar to any fixed prosthesis, for a fraction of the price. This program will focus on both surgical and prosthetic planning and execution for both the already edentulous patient, and immediate implants for the patient requiring tooth extractions, while simultaneously loading the implants with a semi-fixed prosthesis which increases patient satisfaction and tissue response and healing. Participants will learn about implant placement along with bone and gingival grafting requirements, while also practicing locator insertion, denture preparation, immediate pickup of locator housings and immediate denture conversion as a semi-fixed prosthesis to be delivered the day of surgery. This results in optimal outcome for patients and allows denturists to receive more renumeration with less steps than the traditional approach.
