Description
Elevate Your Practice by Mastering Indirect Sinus Lifts: A Hands-On Course
Be clinically confident with a simplified and predictable approach
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Loss of posterior teeth in the dental arch can limit the masticatory abilities of an individual. Studies have shown loss of up to 50% in bone volume of the residual alveolar ridges after dental extractions. The placement of implants in posterior edentulous maxilla is normally a challenging task due to limited crestal height of alveolar bone Following maxillary sinus pneumatization. The anatomical knowledge of the maxillary sinus guides us in proper preoperative treatment planning and helps us to avoid possible complications during the sinus augmentation procedure.
The type of maxillary sinus elevation and augmentation that a surgeon chooses to use on a given patient depends on the surgeon’s preference as well as patient anatomy. Patient anatomical factors include the residual bone height and the amount of lift desired. There are two main approaches for maxillary sinus floor elevation: Direct and Indirect approach. Direct –lateral window technique and indirect – crestal sinus floor elevation.
The objective of this course is to allow clinicians understand the fundamentals in Indirect maxillary sinus grafting, the indications, contraindications, latest techniques, complications, and management.
