Dental Assistant Implant Training Program

Course overview & learning objectives:

An efficient dental team is a major contributing factor to the
success of dental implant surgeries. The dental assistant plays a
vital role both before and after implant surgery. Knowing how to
prepare the operatory before surgery, efficiently guide through
surgical kits and materials during surgeries, and dismantle the
surgical room setup after surgery will ensure a positive surgical
experience for both patients and office staff.
Dental assistants will gain knowledge and confidence in preparing
the operatory before and after surgery. They will also develop a
better understanding of patient communication, implant fixture and
biomaterials selection, inventory management, implant kit and
surgical armamentarium preparation, implant motor setup,
infection control, and barrier management. Clinicians will leave this
course with an improved understanding of their chairside roles and
responsibilities during implant surgeries. Post-surgery recordkeeping
and sterilization will also be demonstrated in this one-day
hands-on course.
