THE NEXT GENERATION OF GUIDED IMPLANT DENTISTRY Despite the tremendous studies in implant dentistry, we still see some cases that show ongoing bone loss and/or other failures. Research is now pointing towards malpositioning of implants to be one of the major factors of these failures. The incorrect placement can lead to a variety of problems, including bone loss, implant fractures, aesthetic nightmares and other restorative failures...all of which results in a very unhappy patient. The rapid advancement of 3-D imaging technology enables dentists to provide better care for their patients with: more accurate diagnosis, the ability to read patient specific anatomy and provide customized treatment options for the restorations. So why not take advantage of this?
